Why are eye sight tests important?

Why are they important and what will they show?

Routine eye tests and check ups are important because your eyes will usually not hurt or have no symptoms when something is wrong. An eye sight test should be a key part of your life and staying healthy. Eye sight health checks can gather early signs of eye conditions before you are aware of any signs and symptoms. Many of these symptoms can be treated and prevented from getting worse if discovered early enough.

What your eye test will show:

  • or if you need to change your current glasses
  • if you need to get glasses for the first time

Our eye examination is far more than just the means of purchasing glasses.

The examination can highlight potential problems not only with the eyes but with aspects of general health as well. Issues such as Glaucoma, Diabetes, high cholesterol and even tumours can be discovered during routine examinations. As unpleasant as they may be it is better to spot these issues early where they can be treated and managed. Of course the examination also checks the prescription and makes sure your eyes are seeing as well as they possibly can.

Our eye examinations include a full refraction, examination of the ocular surface and interior, monitoring of ocular pressures and where required visual field screening.

We offer a full and specialised contact lens service in all practices and are leading the way in multifocal contact lenses and the latest high oxygen materials.
